MORE GUNS IN GROW-OPS
B.C. budding business is getting more dangerous.
That's the conclusion police in Richmond came to after they busted a
grow-op Nov. 30 and seized an arsenal of weapons that included a
sawed-off shotgun, a handgun and plenty of ammunition for both weapons.
Police seized 952 marijuana plants at the residence in the 9800 block
of Odlin Road.
Hazley Mack, 27, of Delta, was arrested during the bust and faces one
drug charge and two firearms charges.
According to StatsCan, there have been 137 marijuana-related homicides
between 1992 and 2002.
Richmond RCMP has dealt with 218 reported grow-ops in 2005 so far,
although 31 of them have been false alarms.
