SPEAKER SERIES LAUNCHES

Coming Soon to a School Near You, the 'Bright Travelling Speaker Series.'

Burlington Resources has teamed up with the Edson and District Drug
Action Coalition (EDDAC) and the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Commission (AADAC) to bring a drug awareness/prevention speaker series
to Grade 7 through 12 students in Edson, Hinton, Jasper, Drayton
Valley and Fox Creek.

Presenters will cover aspects of methamphetamine and its effects, but
it won't stop there said EDDAC co-chairperson Edith
Zuidhof-Knoop.

"Any kind of mind-altering drug is something we should be concerned
about."

Burlington recently donated a generous sum of $10,000 to the speaker
series.

The company decided to donate to EDDAC because they are very concerned
about the effects meth and other drugs could have on its current and
future workforce and made a choice to be proactive when it comes to
informing students about the harmful effects of illegal drugs, said
Zuidhof-Knoop.

"They want to see a healthy workforce."

Speakers are currently being lined up for a launch in the
February/March time frame.
