DRUG CRIMES UNDER CLOSED CONTROL

In early December 2005 Office of the Narcotics Control Board, Region
7 arranged a training project to enhance efficiency of narcotics
officers who station at check-points to stop drugs and illegal
objects. Khun Sittichai Chaiprayong, Director of Law Enforcement
Office, reported in the meeting that the training will focus on
working efficiency of narcotics officers to be on alert and more
effective since there are many people who smuggle illicit drugs and
illegal objects into the Kingdom of Thailand nowadays.

Later on Khun Sureeprapa Traiwej, Director of Office of the Narcotics
Control Board Region 7, referred to an order number 40/2548 by
National Drugs Controlling Center appointing 4th Drugs Raiding Plan
throughout the country which started from 1 October to 31 December
2005. According to the plan of drugs raiding, the center appoints
strategies to fight drug crimes to be fit in each situation in each
area. One of the strategies is to put check-points on main roads to
search for drugs and stop drugs.

This training will take one day and it receives full support from
Police Region 5 and Region 6.
