MORE THAN 170 ARRESTED IN WINNIPEG CRACKDOWN
Winnipeg (CP) -- Winnipeg police say more than 170 people have been
arrested and a variety of weapons and drugs have been seized in a
crackdown on crime in the city's west end.
A special task force, dubbed Operation Clean Sweep, has been cracking
down on gangs, drugs, prostitution and other offences in the area
since Nov. 21.
Firearms are among the weapons that have been seized and officers
said yesterday that cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana are among the
drugs they've turned up.
