USERS WANT GOV'T TO CLARIFY MEDICAL MARIJUANA RULES

(CNS) - Ottawa needs to clarify the rules surrounding the possession
and consumption of medical marijuana, says Ontario's minister of
government services in a letter requesting a meeting with Federal
Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq.

Confusion over the rules regarding medical marijuana and conflicts
with Ontario's liquor laws have resulted in several human rights
complaints from medical marijuana users who allege discrimination
after they were forbidden from smoking pot outside drinking establishments.

"It is essential that Health Canada act to formally clarify its
intention and direction regarding the consumption of medical
marijuana," wrote minister Ted McMeekin, in his March 10 letter.
