LETTER WRITER WRONG ABOUT CHEECH AND CHONG
I saw the first time Cheech and Chong did their comedy act at the
Gardens way back in the day. It's their stereotypical behaviour that's
at the root of their comedy. To blame either of them for drug
prohibition is an oxymoron [Letters, December 4-11]. Tommy was
attacked by a U.S. government looking for scapegoats and busted for
what is sold here in Vancouver daily (bongs).
The election of the Harper Conservatives ended any and all research
and reform. Attack the morons that had Tommy arrested or who profit
from the drug war (a list too long to mention). Tommy has been a real
warrior in the pot-legalization movement from the very early days of
the movement. Be happy that the work of people like Tommy Chong has
allowed you to smoke pot at all.
