Your recent story concerning Lacy Lake-view's plan to
curb drug smuggling by patrolling I-35 is quite disturbing.
It is tantamount to premeditated armed robbery.

If a real drug smuggler has made it as far as Waco,
chances are he is much too sophisticated for the Lacy-
Lakeview police department. All the Lacy-Lakeview
police will confiscate are the vehicles of your sons
and daughters, who happen to get caught with small
quantities of marijuana.

The possession of small quantities of marijuana is
a misdemeanor under Texas statutes. If the punishment
is supposed to fit the crime, does that mean Lacy-
Lakeview should confiscate the vehicles of those charged
with speeding, also a misdemeanor?
