SCARY LOGIC

In a B.C. court, one Randy Caine is claiming the country's marijuana laws
are unconstitutional because the weed has never been shown to harm
occasional smokers or bystanders.

The government's response is that although we don't really know if
marijuana is harmful, it does cause impairment in drivers, while chronic
use can result in mental impairment in people prone to psychological
problems.

Net argument: Marijuana is harmful if used immoderately or stupidly. We
eagerly await bans on aspirin, coffee, television, red meat, suntanning,
jogging and Christmas egg nog.

Or will the government restrict use of this logic to rationalizing an
irrational ban on marijuana?
