DURHAM REGION: MARIJUANA PLANT LOOKOUT
The public's assistance is being sought to find marijuana plants
growing outdoors. Marijuana is sometimes grown in wooded lots or
alongside legitimate crops, often without the knowledge of the
landowner. Mature plants, which can grow to a height of 5 metres, can
yield from a quarter of a pound to 1-1/2 pounds of the drug, depending
on the species. A quarter pound of marijuana has a street value of
about $2,500.
