59KG OF GANJA FOUND IN BUSHES

KOTA BARU: Fifty-nine kilos of ganja smuggled in from Thailand for
distribution in Kuala Lumpur and Johor were found hidden in bushes at
Pengkalan Pasir in Rantau Panjang, about 40km from here, yesterday. State
Customs and Excise Department director Mohamed Sulong said the ganja was
packed in two plastic bags concealed under a heap of dried leaves.

Each kilo is estimated to worth RM1,000, he told reporters yesterday.

Although no arrest was made, information received said four men from a
drug-smuggling syndicate were involved in smuggling the ganja into the
country, he added.
