Inmates Being Tossed Drugs

Don't feed the prisoners -- drugs, that is. RCMP in Stony Mountain,
Man., are urging outsiders to stop tossing drugs over the outer
perimeter fence at the Stony Mountain Federal Penitentiary.

In the last two months, guards at the southern Manitoba prison,
located about 60 kilometres north of Winnipeg, have intercepted
illegal narcotics on four separate occasions, say the Mounties.

In one case, staff stopped a male youth as he tried to toss illegal
narcotics over the wall. He was charged with two counts of drug
trafficking. "Should any person be caught on private property or
attempting to introduce contraband into the Stony Mountain
Penitentiary, charges will be laid," say Manitoba RCMP.
