Hmm well I'm not sure what time your partys start but im a afterhours clubber. The party doesn't usually get kickin' until about 1-2am in the morning. If I decide to arrive early its purely to socialize.. usually they boot us out at around 8am in the morning.. only few select DJ's will continue spinning past that time... but yeah I'd say my body is pretty wrecked after that many hours of dancing...

Damn fucking right I can party until 11am. As for the majority of the crowd? Fuck no they dont stay that late. Only the hardcore clubbers/ravers stay until the very end until they boot us out. Deep Dish spun till 10am at LoL. Do you really think this is the only forum I am on? You sure seem to get angry about such topics when comparing things. I am not here to bite off your head or to criticize Montreals scene, clubs, crowds and or anything else about Montreal. You seem to be taking offense to this debate when you are solely basing your experience on the one night you happened to go to Guv. Personally Guvs Anniv lineup this year doesnt even come close to comparing to Labour Of Love... but others would rightfully disagree because we all like different DJs more than others.

As for Ibiza, like I said I have never been there so don't put words in my mouth. I am simply reitterating other peoples experiences.
BTW who is Crazy Frog?

I'm guessing you havent been to Ibiza....Guuverment=great bookings with a sterile crowd trying to look cool.Fuck Status,Fuck da fashion show, Bring da beats...I know you are into Armin man...funny thing is, guess what city he likes playing in most in Canada...it doesn't even rhyme with Toronto.

Ouch another sword in my side.. sterile crowd. Armin doesn't like playing in TO? LOLOL
Please enlighten me... where does he like playing most? Montreal? Vancouver? Where you there the last two times he played 4 -5 hour sets?

I don't give a sh1t if you've been to Guv before you CLEARLY haven't been when the entire complex was open and or a GOOD DJ(s) was playing. Labour Of Love probably had 10 000 people and because of this reason is where your bias lies. There are tones of those steroid freaks, ginos, and whatever else you don't like but thats only a small fraction when theres 10 000 people attending. If you can look past this then you can dance your ass off for a solid 12 hours straight to an amazing vibe. You prefer System, I don't. DnB is mainly played there, a genre im no fan of.

You are right that I have never been to Ibiza but others have and told me Guv rivals it. Maybe they're lying maybe they're not. We all have our biases.

BUT Montreal party people know how to rock a dancefloor propa, and any other city can be jealous of that, well for d&b, as i cant speak for other types of jams ...

Montreal's drum&bass crowd creates the nicest and grooviest dancefloors ! :)

An understatement to say the least to criticize our crowds. The fact of the matter is that a lot of parties that occur in MTL are indeed underground "raves" and NOT held in a club. This is the main difference between Toronto and MTL. We unfortunately don't have the luxury of having something like Black & Blue being hosted in a stadium (if I am correct) but to say that we don't know how to rock a dancefloor? Ouch

Until you've been to Guvernment/Koolhaus' biggest jams of the year, then you can't say sh1t. If you have been, then clearly you must have left early because it was "too packed". The regular saturday night events usually with 1 or 2 guest DJ's held in The Guvernment only are crazy as is with 3000+ bodies crammed into one room. You think they are standing around?

Some other decent clubs in the Toronto area are Republik, System and Viva but there is no doubt in my mind that the crowds at Guvy/Koolhaus rival those in Ibiza. Don't take my word for it though, its not really something you can explain to someone.. you need to go experience it for yourself.

My 2 Cents

I was doing some research and it came down to either M-Audio or Soundblaster and I would have gone with M-Audio but Creatives new X-Fi cards are about the best a quality you will get at this current point in time. If it was a choice between their Audigy 2 series of cards and M-Audio I would have opted for M-Audio.

Here is a link to their newest cards:

Here is a closeup picture of the new card I will be getting:

It is great because it offers both RCA Analogue and SPDIF/Coaxial Digital so I have 3 options on what to use for recording.

My two XP10 controllers also act as an external soundcard that hooks directly up to the mixer thru RCA... the Sound Blaster X-Fi offers the highest in sound quality with its new 24-bit Crystalizer and major software improvements.. this will be used so that I can record in both Digital or Analogue...

The owner of the place came up to me at 9:30 and told me to turn off the music. I told him I was under the impression this was our night and we were able to play late. I told the owner to talk to the director who was organizing the night. Then we had to turn the music off. Shitty. it was a good night overall except for getting shutdown early.
