He quickly developed a healthy vinyl addiction and became obsessed with electro. In an effort to expand his perception of, and influence on the rest of the world, Melon relocated to Montreal in 1999 where he met a group of like-minded artists, which became the Broken Crew. For close to 5 years now, the infamous and much loved Broken Crew have been relentless in exposing their own twisted party aesthetic and the nu skool breaks sound to Montreal. Through countless events at some of the best venues in the city, a new residency at Stereo Afterhours Night Club and a weekly radio show on CKUT 90.3 fm (Your Radio is Broken, every Saturday morning from 4 to 6 am [ www.ckut.ca ] Broken Crew and Melon continue to try and convince the world that breaks and bass are the future. A self described "dirty breakbeat punk" Melon seamlessly mixes sets that combine elements of raw electro, dub, funky breaks and soul. He has had the fortune of playing along side international artists: Mickey Finn, Aquasky, Kemek the Dope Computer, Uberzone, Dj Punk Rock, Tipper, Simply Jeff and Lee Coombs. His passion for music is simple; it's the one thing, through out all these years, that has never let him down.
