| Info: | Credited as the primary catalyst and pioneer of the jazz, funk, afro, house/electronica movement in Ottawa, Trevor Walker has been involved in the industry since 1989. He brings a unique blend to his sets that take listeners on a sonic journey through many different styles. The jazz/funk idea remains the binding influence behind the music he plays, as well as the deep sounds he produces; giving him the flexibility to incorporate and investigate different sounds in his sets. A stalwart on the radio waves, Trevor Walker continues his long running radio show, the Undergrove on CKCU 93.1 FM Carleton University’s own radio station; and recently has had his set simulcast live every Thursday from the Mercury Lounge on CHUO 89.1fm. His extensive collection runs the gamut of the musical spectrum, connecting Bossa Nova to Break Beat and beyond. Trevor Walker’s ability to get a dance floor moving is in no doubt attributed to roots as a break dancer in the original group “Canadian Floor Masters” in the early part of his career, coupled with 16 years of experience playing for demanding dance floors across Canada – he knows what makes people move.
