| Info: | On Monday, September 18, 2006, Kapacity Entertainment presents the return of one hip-hop’s finest groups, Atmosphere with Rhyemsayers special guests Mac Lethal, Psalm One & DJ Rare Groove at the New Capital Music Hall. In 1997 Atmosphere released their debut album, Overcast!, on the artists collectively owned Rhymesayers label. Slug, Ant, with then member Spawn, delivered the premier staple album defining Minnesota hip-hop. This album introduced fans to a group that was obviously influenced by the pioneering years of rap music, but with their own personal, honest and original mid-western contribution. After a steady stream of singles, compilations and other projects, Atmosphere increased their travels in 2000 with the twenty-date Ford One Tour that brought them to the East coast for the first time. Without a solid distribution system, and remaining on the independent path, Atmosphere’s approach to bring their music to the people was decided- in a van, on the road, one show at a time selling the music hand to hand. Since then Atmosphere have gone on to tour the world, earned legions of fans, and have continued to release quality music with their unique sound. The group’s third and fourth albums went on to sell 130,000 and 150,000 units respectively. Around this time 1200 Hobos founder, DJ Mr. Dibbs, began to tour with Atmosphere and has since become a very important part of their highly regarded live show. In late 2005 Atmosphere released their fifth studio album, You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having, which solidified their place as one hip-hop’s most consistent groups. Every time Atmosphere plays in the nation’s capital, or anywhere else for that matter, the event has been sold out. This time will be no exception.
