so ya...im big on Garage this past month...

Ed Case is dah shit...

and Ya you gotta love So Solid crew...lisa mafia...mmmmmmm

mo fire crew is decent...their beats are weak...

Streets...i love...and if you don't you deserve to get castrated.

but where is the Garage/two step thread...ya and craig davis should shut the fuck up with his name in every song. Its fucking ghey!

So since i dunno where the forum for Garage and two step is..im putting it here...why, cos i fucking feel like it. Ya you might want it in breaks, cos some people think NU school breaks are garage, i say shut up, but no thank you.

garage was invented by Armand Van Helden when he made a blend of jungle/dnb with house.....I don't know what the artists you named sound like but I know that much...

whoa there nelly...
;)
not all garage sucks...
I mean uk garage is not really my cuppa tea how ever nyc garage house and the scenes that followed suit like the one in chicago, toronto and the one in mtl (the therepy crew) are all doing some really good things in fact some really great things I mean look at nick holder's garage 416 crew they are doing some great things, the therepy crew here wit jojo flores in mtl is also doing some important things in the world of nyc garage house
but if its uk garage, 2 step or speed garage that your talking about hummm I think that the music style has a long way to go yet in terms of really comming in to its own... as a style and as a result there is a lot of bad uk garage/2step/speed garage out there... maybe one day it will be some thing great as I do hear the potential for some thing interesting if all the cheesyness would go away from it...

personally i agree with jeff on this one naw... i dont know where i would categorize garage within the available categories, but i wouldn't by any means state that 2step and garage are DEFINITELY house. for me at least house is four-on the floor, the kicks on the-ones, downbeats, while a LOT of garage and the majority of 2step is breaks, syncopated beats, where the leading kick is off-the-one, not 4 times per bar or whatever. there's no doubt about that. anyways, just my two cents i don really give a fuck either way... also within garage there's obviously styles more likely to be 4-on-the-floor boom boom boom boom and some artists may play entire sets like that, but nevertheless a lot of so-called garage DJs are also playing fat breakbeats with similar basslines for entire sets.
