Monday, December 15, 2003 Six snowmobilers from the South Shore guided their vehicles on to the streets of downtown Montreal Sunday night to hold an impromptu race. One of the drivers was arrested and slapped with a $148 fine. The others fled the police. According to police, the six drivers took advantage of the heavy snow falling in the region to drive their snowmobiles over the Mercier Bridge. They then drove to de Maionneuve Blvd. West where they held an impromptu road race near Crescent Street in front of several surprised pedestrians. It is illegal to drive a snowmobile on city streets except during very specific circumstances. The 37-year-old man who was arrested also took a breathalyzer test, but there was no sign of alchohol in his system. Lee |

ahahahah they ran away the from the police wish I was there to see that..." you mean, if you were doing something illegal as that, you WOULDN'T run away from the police, and the 450 isn't that far and on a vehicle which can go up to at least 120mph it's not very far either, i would have loved to see that, i bet the guy who got caught sucked or fucked up and pretty much had to stop, cause, in the snow conditions we had on sunday, theres abosultly NO WAY a police car would be able to stop a snowmobile let along cathc/ catch up to one... what a great idea i thinks |
