had the album for quite a while and i've been waiting for a random 3 am like this one to start listening, dodged all media coverage on the album to really absord what it's about

can see the progression of new direction since the [square] 'album

is my fav on it sofar apart from all those beautifully crafted [Riverbed] tunes parts 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 5 part 6 part 7: flows just like vertex and man overboard

wonder how much time he spent recording [talkin' honky blues] since albums vertex/man overboard were recorded in 48/72 hours

oh yeah he's down with radiohead and biz markie ripped off his john travolta break

older buck65 related tunes to peep off the top of my head

-sebutones - chalk "i am chalk. i dwindle away for the sake of making marks that cannot last in this world"
-sebutones - newport: 3rd member of the sebutones resting in peace
-sebutones - to mock a killingbird: it's just an awesome song of their early work
-buck65 - penthief: a hella dope choon from the anticon gigasingle sample album, i quote "penthief i sit with back to the television, sitting closely watching the ink seep into the page. the wars i wage are fought the finish with written symbols and nimble fingers"
-buck65 - why you frontin for?: super old buck battles rhymes song
-buck65 - freshjuice w/ kotep omegatron
-buck65 - making love to your computer (something like that) w/ governor bolts
tunes done with stigg of the stump, too lazy to check album for song name... just buy the damn record at his next show it's like a rare recent sebutones work... IT'S DOOOPPE!!!

as of recently i've not been so impressed with his direction, it seems more pop centered. i can't stand to even hear "wicked and weird" or whatever it's called track...i don't know, but i haven't heard the rest of the album

hrmmm maybe.
i'll just post-em in here for the meantime. the fun part is doing the google research as im listening to musique. look at my favorites; i can't even keep up with all the reading.

too much important things to do than trying to write for a fancy web-publication. i can just post in threads like these ones instead and still reach people that care enough... if they don't and they happen to be yup... i mean editors

i was at the salvation army earlier with my sister and i bought the illest toy ever... 99cents!!!

it's a etch-a-sketch ohio-art THE ANIMATOR

without the box and the screen is a bit scratch'd of course

take that mr. wannabe joanna jamerson punk ass! i'll animate your doom, bbwoooyyyy!

you'll like the rest of the album... it's just less weirdo-glitchy with awkward drum breaks as before

i'm not too fond of 'wicked and weird' for the same reason as you but i think how he put the song together is cool. how all the samples come in and the raps about old cars... cause after he's supposed to be Buick 65

like i said alot of beautifully crafted beats on there. not so hiphop anymore cause he's been disenchanted by the boombap... sort of in the direction of Shadow's Unkle album but less "epic"

there's a bunch of songs on man overboard and vertex that i wanted to mention but he used to have the habit of never naming them songs. i don't know if he gave them names on the Warner re-releases but they're pretty much the almost last songs on those albums

to tie this in with another thread in a different genre... Boom Bip cut a record on Lex called From Left To Right... which features Buck 65 on a cut called The Unthinkable... which is remixed by Venetian Snares. Go figure.

boombip just does his thing. it's cool man, i've read something where he expresses that he doesnt associate or 'label' himself with hiphop. it's whatever for the sake of making his music

it's totally cool that alot of artists arent trying to exist in the constrictions of a certain genre when they start to descripe and label themselves... cause then they stuck withing the restrictions of a sound

then we have mr.naw moving things around
