 Coolness: 66595 | Well well well, good ol' american intelligence or lack thereof strikes again.
Anyone ever notice that in some cases, Foreign films/tv shows that are broadcasted both in the US and in Canada have a different title in the states? Well, it is there. And here is the funniest one of them all (which probally explains the rest of them). Harry Potter: The Philosohpers Stone is of course, based on the book with the SAME title. So why in the US of all mighty A is the movie called Harry Potter and the Sorcerors Stone? Well, the answer the movie execs will give you is, plain and simple, marketing. But why change it? The marketing strategy is based on the following: the majority of americans won't fully comprehend the meaning of philosopher and interpret it as boring and plain and dull, so a more 'fun' word was chosen when distributing the movie throughout the USofA. This, ontop of all those courtroom shows, the "Chamber", and the "Chair", and temptation island and blahblahblabhlahblahb. Americans think they are so high and mighty when they purposefully sell their selfs off to the world as dumb. This marketing strategy is just further proof of this. :/ |

Democracy is just a coverup. It doesn't really exist man. All we do is vote people in, and even then thats faked. Look at the referendum of 95. Les quebecois forged voting results. Look at the US elections. Theres no WAY Bush got in without cheating. I mean, look at Enron. Enron is proof that there was some major cheatage on those elections. Bush should be impeached over this Enron thing. It wont happen though. :/ |
