Well, that's their bullshit fear, their weak (and typical) argument for not 'negotiating with terrorists' and all that nonsense ... but it ain't reality. First, alot of groups already do that, and very rarely with any positive results. (ie. giving in or not giving in doesn't seem to change the fact that ppl will use their rights, like freedom of speech, to stand up for what they believe in) Second, the fact that people have to take to the streets to get their point across is both a clear sign of democracy in action, and yet also very sad that it becomes necessary (a sign that our current democracy is dysfunctional). Third, all this (and future protests) could be prevented if the govn't wasn't being such a big asshole in the first place, heh. |
