im not advocating witch side i partake here , but i just want to express my concern about the authorities using the group " anonymous " . in my days ppl had groups with names. this one is to me a catch all one witch will become a problem at some point for people not even linked with them if they ever went " anonymous " in the real sense of the term, i dont like u.s. feds thinks anything anonymous is linked toghether . either they win this bitch or it will be everybody's downfall in my point of view as im shure you wouldnt like to be threats as a nationna threat if you simply not use your name , but current us law consolidated this bitch into one blind justice style with im very very afraid of the longrun legal outcome more than whatever the actual anonymous groups doing.

am i the only one here with this concern of legal overstature of the state making the laws even more above than everyone than it should be. im living a flashbak of my high school "peons , barons and lords" history thing everyday lately , mainly due to the almost eveyday attempt at "securing" the net for god knows who but the banks.

It's also fake from what I remember reading, not made through any of the 'official' anonymous channels that they normally use.
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

Cutter, correct me if I'm wrong here but with the ever growing popularity ( and media exposure ) of Anonymous, there's a possibility that some unrelated groups or individuals "claiming" to be part of Anonymous will use its name as their vehicle for their own personal agendas.

That reminds me of the Zodiac Killer in the 70s who's letters were published in local newspapers, generating a bunch of fake Zodiac Killers claiming to be the original one. Looks to me like the same pattern is applied here.
I'm feeling o.o right now..

i recall the legal authorities to view certain groups of individual not even relating or meet but with common or similar goals are viewd now as a single entity , as they want not only to use that for p2p files exchange but to have anybody not using their name or chipped (passport, whatever legaly everybody has to show who they are at all time as a civilian) with a normal data trail to be considered as possible terrorist threat group.

at the veryleast thats the agenda i read about , and was lead to think they cream in their dreams at night at the dmca & dod sleepoversoberpowerorglassofwaterfetish patries. nobody else go that idea they are tryin to enfore down the wire ?

the idea is anonymity is evading security measures meaning a goal to evade the system , thus terror... i know its complete bs , but they are really trying to use this world as a legal wildcard.

since to the law , law is above everybody and all people . and if you simply draw that venn diagram you can easily tag everything not under the law as anonymity . crazy hun , but they want that. even if other freedoms try to amend that this is not legal nor right.

" under pirateship whe shall sail " could have been some other motivation to this.

Lol can't wait to see that. The whole fb network going down? Let me fucking laugh. I'll need to see this to believe it, but i doubt they will succeed in anything else but getting arrested, if anything.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure FB already does a pretty good job at fucking themselves over and making their own site shittier and shittier.

On top of which, everyone knows fb sucks ass and says it out loud, even on the site itself, no need to hide behind an anonymous mask to take a mighty crap on shitbook ...
I'm feeling you up right now..

someone could lunch a worm that would down the whole thing , but the outcomes would eventually end up as what max said

and lol like na said , puting it down wouldnt be as worse as their chat system thats more and more retard and forking everything to diffent analytic agencies. imma get the popcorn out as im shure it will be funny as the y2k thing. esp if that gain media attention LOL i can see the preemptive assumption retardeness headlines in lapress , cbc and tva. i just hOPE nobody in the media will care to "warn us about the threat" as this only enfore more govt agency to put more wire taping down the line when nothing is even done yet .

Nope. Only my VHS that turned into a decepticon, tho i'm not sure if it's because it wasn't Y2K ready, or just mad at DVDs taking over the market.

yeah but I'm tired of hearing "facebook or twitter us" WTF this pisses me off, it's like the media had that as the new internet layer and the many other quality internet services are now unworthy of attention.

this crap is all done by lobbying groups promoting DRM, disclosure (versus anonymity) and other commercial aspects. I hope in the future people will still yearn to learn basic skills to bypass such mechanisms and learn how to use a real OS. I even find myself caught in that complacency wave having bought a laptop (now that I have a UMPC I wish I had bought a desktop instead) and stuck with only a few parts to upgrade.

Y2K- Shut Down Detected; at midnight, the computers in a genetics lab freak out and start creating mutant monsters..

Not much was done with Y2K, 'cause at the time it was seen as a pretty serious event.. it was like if someone made a movie where the 9/11 hijackers were actually werewolves and crashed the planes into the towers to kill their vampire enemies..

There was a Simpsons Halloween episode (Life's a Glitch, Then You Die) on the subject. Pretty damn funny xD

Though time-line unrelated, there was also Maximum Overdrive made in the 80s (with Emilio Estevez! Based on a Stephen King story) about machines/vehicles going nuts and killin' ... + AC/DC soundtrack!
