 Coolness: 30 | On July 11, 12, and 13th a number of collectives from all over the east coast will converge on a patch of crown land and throw an east coast TEKNIVAL!
Groups are coming down from Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal, and New York. Teknival is an experiment in non-hierarchical structure and a DIY attitude. A totaly free, 3 day festival in Southern Ontario. Soundsystems currently setting up stages: Freespace Collective (Goa and Techno) Next Offensive (Breaks, Hard House, Hard Techno) Subtransit (Techno) Mir Soundsystem (Hardcore, Jungle, Speedbass, Noise) Afterglow (House, Jungle and chill beats) Cosmic Babies (Goa and Psy-Trance) ALT (House, Techno) 613 Mobsters (house, techno) EMP productions (Techno) Moodyclub (Clubby Housey Techy beats) This event is meant to be more then just a party. It's about the liberation of space, the creation of an autonamous zone, and an example of a working money free economy. We are not releasing the location yet, but it is going to be in Southern Ontario, within 3 hours drive of Toronto. | Coolness: 30 | Keep in mind that this is only the pre-flyer, and it only lists the groups that have expresses %100 interest in coming down so far.
Renegade Virus has expressed interested, and may well be coming down, if they can get across the border. Anyone else looking to set up a stage can either contact me at Octavian__@hotmail.com and tell me what you're doing so you can get onto our next flyer, or just show up with a soundsystem and start pumping beats. Umm... Soundsystems showing up though should be aware that you won't be able to play off of a van or car or whatever... because our parking is going to be in a different spot from where the actual party is... because of the public land issue. Anyways, hope to see you all down, and keep your eyes peeled for the full info coming out at the end of the month. |
