A friend of mine even made me mix CDs which included lots of Pendulum but I never admitted to her I couldn't get into it. I think the moment the singing starts, it's a total turn off... |

New pendulum is fucking garbage.. It's like Nickelback emo with a two-step beat.. But their old stuff was fucking insane! First track they put out changed DnB.. literally, totally fliped the scene upside down and set a new standard: Then there's Another Planet/Voyager: Spiral/Ulterior Motive.. Spiral fucking destroyed when it came out.. just listening to the youtube clip I'm getting goosebumps.. and Ulterior Motive is, to me, one of their most under-rated tunes.. The bouncy bassline reminds me of something similar to Primus.. Still Grey/Back To You was a fucking epic release, too.. some of the smoothest DnB tunes ever: |

| Coolness: 70160 | When In Silico came out, I was disgusted with everything that didn't fit their typical sound.
Then when Immersion came out, I guess I was used to the idea. I actually like their new stuff. Though I can't tolerate The Island part1 standalone (without part 2). Immunize sounds like it was taken from Invaders Must Die (with Liam Howlett, makes sense....) Obviously, I'm no musical snob. I get more enjoyment out of being open to all sorts of music (even the mainstream), and I don't believe in tying down an artist to the same narrow genre for the entirety of their career... it just means I'm gonna have to look for more artists that do similar stuff. |
