but I've heard it before, and to me, pop-singers latching onto an underground genre's sound is pretty much the #1 sign that that particular "sound" is now completely irrelevant and worthless. Going mainstream pretty much means "this music has become total formulaic garbage that we can dilute, mass-market and churn out with no quality control because you fucking idiot masses only listen to what the radio tells you to listen to without having any actual musical taste of your own" It's pre-cooked and canned and mass-marketed garbage. It's going to a fancy restaurant and ordering a Big Mac instead of the Fillet Mignon. Someone in an office somewhere realized that a bunch of people like music that sounds like this, so THEY should have people make music that sounds like that, because it'll make them a ton of money. It's pretty much the sign to bail out if you've got any actual integrity, but it's now a perfect time for people who don't mind doing exactly what's popular to get attention and money. |

not really surprised that bit time pop producers like dr. luke are trying shit out considering it's popularity... whether they produce watered down shit electro or watered down shit dubstep, I couldn't care less...
