I've got an old Marshall that I'm looking to sell.. I don't really play guitar all that much anymore, and much as it hurts to even think of parting with it, I'd much prefer it if it were getting used than sitting neglected in my living room..

I don't know all that much about the amp, other than the serial number indicates that it's from either 69 or 70, and that it's a 20w amp with a tremolo. The cabinet, as far as I can tell, is also an original, so if the information I'm reading online is correct, that would mean it's a 4x10 w/Celestion 7442

The amp and cab aren't in the greatest condition; The "M" on the Marshall on the head is cracked and missing a piece, the power light doesn't work, and also doesn't have the red cover, the power switch has been replaced, some internal work was done to re-solder a few parts that were loose and causing signal noise, and there's no back/venting(I don't know what it's called) plate on it to cover the tubes.. the back plate of the cabinet is also loose and would need to be properly affixed as it rattles a little (I think the screws have rusted and some are missing).

I'd like to get $2500 for it, but I'm open to any reasonable offer. There's one of these on ebay right now going for $14,000 (granted, it's in much better condition and comes with two aditional 2x10s) to give you an idea of what you'd be getting. (also if you want more/better technical info on it, check that auction; this is the exact same amp, only with the 4x10 cabinet and not the two 2x10 speakers)

Feel free to contact me if you're interested or have any questions!

It's a 20 watt, so it's really best for recording or small venues, but the sound on it is really spectacular.. it's a bit noisy, but they all are from that time..

and literally, this amp + a Gretch guitar =

..and if either of you two are really interested (Mik or Matt) just send me a message; I know you guys more than I'd know some random person off Craiglists, so I'd be more than happy to work something out with someone I know paying in a few installments.. I'm also flexible on the price!

Also, a little something else that I'll throw in to whoever gets it (if they want):

It's a 4x12 box, with only 3 speakers in it.. so you'd need another 12" and to wire it, and do a bit of cosmetic work, but if you grab the amp and want it it's yours!
