Microbytes tends to have good prices for individual parts, just don't ever get a per-built system from them, their "techs" are fucking idiots that do shit like forget to plug the extra power into the graphic card, make systems with 450w power supplies when the graphic card that comes with needs at least a 550w one, or my personal favorite - they forget to put thermal paste between the heatsink and CPU.
In terms of brands, I've always been a fan of ATI over nVidia.. ATI's never done anything like what nVidia accidentally did recently and release a driver update that overclocks your graphic card while turning the fan down to the lowest speed setting and frying your computer.. currently the best entry-level cards are the 42XX and 54XX serries; the 54XX will be a little more expensive, but if you want better graphics it's a no-brainer..

Microbytes built the computer I'm on now, 8 years ago and she's still kickin'!
it was one in laval tho, maybe they do a better job north of the 514

better than the west island at least.. My grandfather taught me how to build computers, but friends buying computers from MicroBytes in DDO is what taught me how to fix computers..

Are firmware & driver an essential part of the hardware thus would have them as liable as if their card had a short circuit? Thus responsible for ensuing hardware damages?
