9:36 pm, Jolicoeur Metro, Matricks steps into action. The man hadn't been breathing for over 5 minutes
and had no pulse or breath. I don't know if the man in question lived, but all I know is I feel better
knowing we have a guy like Francis around, who knows when you'll need his help.

Kudos man.

yeh it seemed so, stroke or heart attack. In his late 70's or 80's. I assume he died but that didn't stop them from working on him.

Anyways, I feel bad for his wife.

Damn, diffinetly the overweight is a big problem when coming to do a cardiac massage, the fat absord the pressure your giving off to the heart.
I think everyone should have these basic medical skills, CPR, sterilization (cuts, infections, snake bites ). Personnally, i didn't do any of the official classes, but im confident I would be able to save a person on cardiac arrest / drowning.
Its not like their hard or anything, learn em =P

OMG!

Yes that was me, I'm actually still in my stage right now, and this was my first ressuscitation intervention. I was working last night from 19:00 to 7:00 this morning. Tonight is my last internship shift, and after that I'm off to the big exams and to get my diploma =)

About last night:
My two partners and me got callled on this situation around 21:25, and got there at 21:30 (thankfully we weren't to far). The First Respondant firemens were already giving the patient CPR, and had their defibrillator hooked to the patient, a 60 y/o men with no known health problems, apart from controlled diabetes. His wife was also there, crying and screaming for him to wake up, which was pretty damn sad. We took over the firemens great work, although they stayed there to help up secure that man into our vehicule as quick as posible. Unfortunately, the patient didn't make it, and his death was confirmed at the hospital, but not before trying another series of manoeuvers and medications.

I'm also hoping to never have to use these skills in a rave environment, without all the most benefitial equipment, but you never know, and I'll be ready for it.
I'm feeling motivated right now..

My gf could tell he was dead already, he had been unconscious for 5 minutes before the firemen got there. I saw the entire thing until the cops came to make us leave, we we're concerned
and wanted to see him wake up. Also did not want to distract you, that was a given. So we left and
walked home discussing it.

Too bad he didn't make it, I took a cpr course when I was 16 for lifeguarding but I'm not qualified
to do it anymore, I forgot how many chest pumps and breaths etc. That's why they make you renew it every year.

Anyways, really sad. Was stuck with me all day.
