Closed Circuit Television is the new wave in security camera technology.
Cameras are placed all over the city and in businesses (mainly in europe right now)
and can be triggered via satellite anywhere on the globe. It's used to keep criminals
on the streets in check, kinda like a big brother system.

Although now, I'm finding it's only giving creeps a chance to watch serious snuff videos,
robberies and accidents. It's not helping anyone's cases imo, just glorifying the horrible
things that happens to these people, since they always end up on sites like [ www.nothingtoxic.com ]
or [ www.thync.com ] anyways, no one has any chance for dignity, the tapes are just stolen and leaked by
the fucking operators of the cameras.

what are your thoughts on this? I DO NOT SUGGEST you watch any of the videos, but if you're curious
click on the links above, you'll see exactly what I mean.

i knew someone who was working at one point with the Libertarian party of canada to petition the removal of some of the cameras installed in city centers across canada after 9/11.
I'm feeling surly right now..

well from what I've heard in the UK it's actually making a difference, but they've got a major problem if kids going around in gangs and stabbing random people on the street..

The city/council pays people to watch the CCTV footage live, and depending on the crime they see they can either take control of the camera, turn on a light, and speak into a microphone and tell the person to stop (in the case of, say, graffiti or loitering) or they can just hit an "emergency" button on the interface and it'll transmit the location to the cops so that they can get there ASAP and hopefully save a person that's been stabbed or beaten..

A lot of the stuff that shows up on Nothingtoxic or other sites is just "regular" CCTV like you'd have in banks or clubs or whatever, where the employees can take out the tape or copy it and no one will know who did it.. with the system like in the UK, it's one person per video stream.. any crime that gets filmed, if someone uploads it, they can know exactly who it is that did it because only one person (besides the company) has access to any one camera at any one time.
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..
