his books were all lies, but they are still fun to read... I much preferred " a seperate reality ", the teachings of don juan... the egg with the tentacles..

Ufot-crazy shit weird mexican lies... peyote anyone?

ya years ago I read one of the Castaneda trilogy - can't remember which one. I wanted to learn about lucid dreaming and someone recommended it

last year a friend lent me the first one. it's a really good read. too bad he is a total fraud.

Somebody investigated his work. They found that during the time he claimed to be out in the Mexican desert with shamans and spirits, records show he was actually on campus at UCLA. They were able to prove this because he kept signing out books on shamanism at his university library.

Apparently those who knew him well said he often made up stories to impress people.

The guy has quite an imagination, for sure. I really enjoyed that first book. It's just a shame he tricked people into thinking he really was a shaman's apprentice or a sorceror.

not cool Carlos. not cool!

I did a paper on Ayahuasca - the Vine of the Dead - for this anthropology course - Religion Magic and Witchcraft

it's like peyote x 3

really crazy. there have been graduate students who went down to the Amazon to study the shamans and they wound up becoming firm believers in it. said they were able to leave their bodies and fly around...
