CTRL FRK present: OMNI Omni is not a newcomer in Quebec's electronic music scene. As a DJ, he has played in the past few years in over a hundred club and rave events. He has also been seen behind the turntables at such prestigious clubs as Parking, Circus Afterhours and Aria Nightclub. He has played most of the biggest electronic music events in the province of Quebec and has also played in Ontario. Also a resident for Akarien's Electro-Chic events at the Society for Arts and Technology, Omni keeps himself very busy as a DJ in Montreal's electro scene. Producer for the past five years, Omni put his DJing experience to good use to create a smashing live performance that he performed for the first time at Rewire 3 with great success. He also signed in 2007 a contract with Elektrofone records, label with which he now has two releases: "Rewire EP" and "Machine is Rhythm EP". He also signed with ontarian label 4Play Trax who released his remix of Sointu's track "Rebel" in October 2007. Early in 2008, he signed a contract with french record label Absolut Freak Records for the release of his track "Rocking Monster" on vinyl. With more releases planned in 2008 on these labels and with freshly signed contracts with Ambiguous Digital and DNT Music, the upcoming year promises to be very busy for Omni's music productions and live performances. His sound is mainly inspired by his DJ experience with a bold electro sound, while still gathering influences from techno and rock. No minimal sound in sight, Omni's live performance is a real wall of sound, a dancefloor monster that leaves nobody unharmed. + DJ Zed Aksis Zed Aksis has been active in Montreal’s electronic music scene since 1999. When he was 20, his taste for electronic music started to show up while he was working as a DJ in his hometown. Then came two SL-1200 MK2. Ever since, his passion as a deejay as been growing just as fast as his talent. Zed Aksis has been playing with the likes James Monro and Humate. He also played in major renowned clubs in Montréal such as the « Circus After-hours » and the « Parking », and also in major events like the well known Evolution Radar One. He has traveled inside Canada as well as in the United States. From percussions to xylophone to trumpet and guitar, he has been playing a lot of instruments before he chose the turntables. It’s with all he acquired in his childhood while he was musically active, and what he has been acquiring in the later years in computer science that he started his production career. He is currently producing with a partner in the duo “Les Limaces”, who released not even a year after they started producing. His sound is progressive, electro with a bit of techno, always evolving, changing. Zed Aksis is showing us with each mix session what is going on, on the z-axis. ONLY 5$ @ JUPITER ROOM!!!
