 Coolness: 108865 | Of course all war on drug is backed or influenced by US especially in South America which is US turf where they're probably the godfather approving of everything there. Their "School of the Americas", now Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, and military supply is just the tip of the iceberg on their "influence".
I heard some scholar a few months back saying that if they didn't stop Mexican gangs that they would be the leading criminal in US withing 5 years. He explained their progress in the drug traffic and the advancement seemed very plausible. Why pay US agents when you can get Mexican for a fifth of the price ? But they must really be on the verge of cracking in the US that they pay for it.
