I left because the sound was simply too loud when Total Science started playing.

Corey K's awesome set was comfortably loud, and not too aggressive treble-wise (yay vinyl). Then I guess TS switched to something digital and that's when the sound, especially the high-end, went from "borderline" to "fuck my eardrum with needles".

I absolutely hate this trend of deafening volumes. Filastine, DJ Assault, same deal.

It probably won't change and I'll probably have to get myself those 200$ musician's earplugs that don't make everything sound shitty like those 99 cent ones.

If I ever play too loud, please come to the DJ booth and let me know.
I'm feeling my balls for a tumor right now..

you have pretty good earplugs for musicians around 40$... i've been using such ones in rehearsals, concerts, and raves for almost 10 years and i like them.

if the sound isn't loud, the feeling isn't the same at all... i really need to feel the bass in my belly and to have the sound waves move my whole body, otherwise the experience i feel it's lacking something.

i agree that too much treble can be annoying, though, sometimes even with good earplugs...
I'm feeling phd powa !!! right now..

just adjust the levels on the mixer, no harm in turning down the treble manually - just take off your headphones and see how it sounds loud...pretty easy to keep your levels in place, other than the gains, I'm always pushing for "louder" to achieve what Flo explained as the full musical experience.

Big up the TS, Corey K, Mayday n Bass-ik! Too bad, I must have missed a sick Champion Sound or Squash re-lick :(

TS was really good. Sick track selection. As for Corey`s set same! Mayday really jump started the party with a all of-a-sudden crank up in her speed of mixing! Massive! Props tô da Bass-Ic aswell!

I agree with you, it gets to a point where it is not enjoyable. What's the point if you have to be wearing ear plugs?
