 Coolness: 131605 | they painted their laptops in the movie hackers in 1995.
its fun till you relise you ruin the slickness. ( dont worry i have done non-permanant to permanat paint. and from putting little stickers , to actually painting glue with a brush on my laptop to stabilised/laminate 8 years or creative accumulation.) funny in 2006 i decided to removed all the stickers on my 486 laptop from 1994. i had to dismentle it completely , then sand all the casing for hours , to then apply an even flat army green camo paint. so now it looks orignial again, but in a weird unstantarised colour. here is what i made in 1996 with 2 permanat colours of green and 1 gray and some pieces of ragged cloths. 
the intergrated kvm switch is design by byself. on this one i can manipulate 4 computers from this single keyboard. can work unpowered as a normal keyboard, or you can jack it to itself and go for 4 computers , power then comes from +5V rca cables , a little mod that i can intgerate into the computer by only connecting a connector and tighten one screw. |

they are trash really. not easy to type with at all. you gotta really hit the center of the keys or they don't recognize your keystrokes. my roomate had one... it sucked ass... the cat ended up demolishing it too. |

but this is getting somewhere, flexible technology is going to leap in the next years, since more intergration of this technoilogy will hit the market. im shure you seen the flexible displays , etc... next leap should be gigantic lcd touchpads, nothing less... retailing the same price a an old beige keyboard. im scared that the market will again delay theses new technologies and feed us the old agin for an other ten years... |

i cut quares of electrical tape to protect the letter ( no sqare is the same but ), give a nice readout. then just stack a few cloth , spray spray. then move em a little, other pain spray spray etc.. and i get eathy spirit, "jesso" is almost permanant, but can be removed easily on some materials. and wont discolour the key even from ware. some time it just break the corportate/design/mold enought, that make you feel your freeing the computer expressions, or users expression more by other means than its usage. call it a personnal artistic value added service. |

man ia agree that camo is pretty lame, but i did this when i was 16, and honestly i relate more the a clean camo keyboard, than one only covered with cum and crumbs. :) i agree that minux keyboard is awsome, i can only imgine the price. but seriously you should jump on it now, since i suspect that kind of design will phase out to touch screen lcds, ( one intead of mutliple small - witch again imo is WAY to much components to stay a profitable product , remember metals are going up like crazy ). i learned to typed in the dark, with no luminecent keys, i awlways got a little jalous when i looked at computers in cops car. yea the one with illuminated keys. now i could modify most keyboard to be illuminated ( if not throu the keys , under them at most witch defines them well enought if your used to type). but nowadays , i rather have and love my kvm keyboard.
