Good or bad?

I'm looking for a good location for an event.

Price is 1200 + 250 dopiest.

Is it worth it?

Good or bad?
I'm feeling planning next event right now..

250$ extra for dopiest promoter? :P

I'd like to help, but I wasn't at that party; were there other parties at that location?

Seems pricey, but the venues are taking advantage of the fact that we don't have much choice.

it's expensive and only 1 room for Dj's (the other room should NOT be used for music). You have to add sound to that room and equipement. your better off renting the Level in laval for that price really...

it's a nice place though and close to my house so, maybe it's not soo bad after all.
I'm feeling flirt-city right now..

Hmmm, how many watts of sound do you think you need for that place?

I agree with they are taking advantage of us.

Look at the chill isn't big or anything. only 700 -900 to rent it on a saturday night.

100 000 watts :P

Actually, probably way less than 10 000, & only driven half way. Two tops, two subs, and two monitors usually does the trick in a small room.

is it the Rainbow Trip venue?

reaper , rent 2 x 200w rms amps. if its big like the chill. more than that is useless.

if you get amplified speakers instead , use about 4-6-or-8 180-200w and a sub.
Update » cutterhead wrote on Fri Nov 28, 2008 @ 2:44pm
fo real juice, get 2x 800w rms 4 speakers ,
Update » cutterhead wrote on Fri Nov 28, 2008 @ 2:55pm
id like to add : for every tennis court, get an additionnal 400w.

more than that pple will go defth and you wont drive the amps full power.

for reference i can hear my 400w outside when its halfway . ON 0 db

that scare me :D

but if your economic and resonnable, 200w RMS per tennis court is enough : think of jock with car stereo , normally its 1000w with 2 12 inch sub, you can hear them from a mile and the
thing is never at maximum.
I'm feeling 4.5kw 240vrms 45a right now..

what? they are douchebags...they probably stole someone's virginity too

There aren't too many venues, seriously. There's the Theatre Sans Fils, but it's probably booked, and waaaay too expensive. With other places you risk a bust. Otherwise, you gotta do it off the island of MTL.

Anyway, if you were at "Get Up" think of your experience there, if the location suited you, and if it suits your needs. You might also want to consider the capacity: if you only expect 200 people, don't bother with the Level, it'll seem empty. Anyway, good luck!
