they live for 1 or 2 years
the water must be perfect you must keep them stimulated else they get bored and they're known to escape their aquarium ;)

12th century?
Merriam-Webster: Main Entry: 1fish Listen to the pronunciation of 1fish Pronunciation: \ˈfish\ Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural fish or fish·es Usage: often attributive Etymology: Middle English, from Old English fisc; akin to Old High German fisc fish, Latin piscis Date: before 12th century Cambridge Dictionary: fish (ANIMAL) Show phonetics noun [C or U] plural fish or fishes 1 an animal which lives in water, is covered with scales, and which breathes by taking water in through its mouth, or the flesh of these animals eaten as food: etc. I know, I know. It's like with "chevals" being in the dictionary now. "Fishes" hurt but it's accepted... Same for octopuses.
