falls aren't real dreads, they're synth-hair dreads that you tie into your hair..

For falls, the best way to keep them tightened up is to blast them with a hairdryer on the highest setting; the hair is synthetic/nylon/plastic based, so you're essentially "heat-shrinking" it.

I so need to fix my dreads..

No no xP I know how to make them and whatnot. I have a set that I bought off ebay and I have them now. My question is, how do I keep them in? like ties to the buns? 'Cause I know how to put them in and whatnot, it's just they like to slip off the buns a litte. :3

Edit: They have the dreads on a string[dread falls] and to put them on you need to put your hair up into buns and when I put them on today for a test, they were kind of loose. so when I walked they would come off/show some of the bun.

ok, well one way is to braid the string in with your regular hair. It's the way I've seen a lot of people do it, and it holds really well.

Hmm. I guess I'm not explaining well enough :/ one sec I'll grab a pic.. But thank you all for your help! these are how mine are made [ i22.ebayimg.com ] except at the top [through all of them] there is a string that you use to tie around your hair[bun]

well, I dunno about putting them in like that, but what I'd read when I was looking on how to make real dreads, was that the best way to put in falls was to braid the string into your hair, that way it's almost impossible for it to come loose..

There's this also that I just found, might be a good way to do it [ delicstutorials.livejournal.com ]

If you can get your hair braided up ('cause I really, really suck at that part) I can make you dreads (and they'd look better than mine.. lemme tell you, trying to make your own dreads with a sinus infection is totally not fun, I'm gonna be fixing these for a loooong time)

I used to wear those (you can check my profile) and the way I kept them well attached is with 1-2 huge "bobby pins" on both the string from the dreads and my elastic for the buns. I'd put them in different directions to make sure it wouldn't pull in a way or another.

I have no idea if what I said is clear enough, but I hope it helps ;)
I'm feeling mu right now..

A mix of epoxy and liquid concrete tends to work great as a dread fall fixative. You can make it yourself and apply it liberally to the scalp, then stick the dread falls in place.
