I finally plugged mine on our vista computer and it fixed it right up before even loading windows. :/

I have a few tips for u if u want to recover your stuff.
Usualy the problem with external drives is that the needle reading the info from the disk is slightly too far from the surface or slightly too close. try to wrap your drive in a ziplock and put it in the freezer for 45 minutes. If that does not work try the opposite, put it in the oven at the lowest temperature possible. This will temporary modify the distance between the needle and the disk and u may be able to recover some stuff if your fast. *try those as a last resort u might screw up your drive even more. | |

I have the blood of 160gb on my hands too. can't wait till we get in solid state data storage era. several disks spinning one on top of each other is meant to fail at some point
