As far as amps go Crown gets my vote.. and for the speakers watch out for the Jbl's .. From hear say and personal experience they don't have a super long lifespan...
I'm feeling hr, br, fr, sr right now..

My need is for a musician friend who just sign a touring contracts and need to provide is own sound system for venue with 100-1000 peoples. Sysrtem need to be modular for smaller venue and enought to provide sound outside for a least 1000 peoples...He have a budget of near 20 000$ for news stock. He play Pop rock and alternative. He need heart pumping bass and clear hight.

I just got fews demo, here my personal result:

JBL and crown kit, Vertec 50 000 watts, with 8 dual 10'' line array top and 8 2X18'' bass bin, drived with setup A Crown Macrotech VZ3600 and VZ5002.
Result: Nice, but fad sound, no living, great bass, but no projection...Over 100 feet, you lose the bass.
setup B with crown I-Tech 4000 and 8000
Result: More headroom, more punch in the bass, but still lack of bass projection...

I got too a yorville demo, with TX4 top and TX-8 bass with Audio-Pro amplifier
Result: More loud than the JBL kit, but lot more agressive. Good bass projection.

Got a Transparence demo..
Hight fidelity sound, good projection ( 2X15'' horn top, and NAC218 bass bin), but I think that the transparence amplifier are lean...Incredible lack of power...

EV kit, with SX500 and MTH4 bass bin...Loud and clear, but agressive...

My best...D-amp demo..
4 Sub TS-1 and 4 top TMH-1...With 2 D-amp 12KHVI for sub and 3 8000HVI for top...Incredible projection and power, sound a bit less Hi-Fi than the transparence, BUT: BIG and heavy...Specialy the sub..Amplifier rack was the most light and seem as per manufacturer to need less ac power..

What I think is to go with D-Amp amplifier and Transparence speaker...Any comment? I got lot of good and bad comment about theses stuff, like some on reliability of amplifiers ( some people told me that they are delicate, and some other told me that they are stronger than Crown....) and lot of comment about sound ''disparity'' of the Transparence products....Only commond comemnt I got is about power of the amplifiers,,Everybody agrre that this is the most powerfull amplifier on the market...

My probleme now...D-Amp and Transparence are lot out of my budget...Yorville, EV and JBL semm to fit into, but not the best I have heard...Any other suggestion or comment?

By the way, my knowledge is more axed on studio stuff...That's my job in Quebec city, but I'm in montreal for fews week, and I have like the Amazone Party and 3d-Mension event! That's there by the way I found D-amp..Never heard about these products before!

Thanks

Magdelena

I Finaly order a ''begining'' d-amp kit...2 TS-1 Sub, 2 TMH-1 Top,3 8000HVI, 1 4000HVI and a BBE DS48 processor. Maybe in the future, if it's not enought, I will buy another amplifier and another set of speakers, but as what I've seen (or heard!), it should be OK for fews moments! Now I'm looking for stage monitoring kit...D-amp is too costly and maybe to powefull for my need...Any suggestion here, I will have to go back to Quebec city in 2 weeks...

Thanks everybody!
