Do you mention the fact that you are a dj or a musician ?

or

Do you usually keep that kind of information for yourself, fearing that your potential employer will find such activities, and everything that is associated with them, not " serious " ?

( Of course it depends on the type of job you're applying for ).
I'm feeling g.r.i.m.e.y. right now..

if it's not a plus, dont put it. Like if youre applying at hmv, mention it, cuz it means youre passionate about music. But for a banker its pretty useless

depends on the job really...
when i used to be a customer service rep they frowned on me for it, cuz i was promoting alot of events in those days and sometimes i would bail out on work cuz i was able to hussle more cash working on events than my day job paid...
mind you... i was also making alot less money in those days.
and now that i'm a designer it's hit or miss depending on the market i'm designing for...
some companys respect it because they feel that i'm more in touch with thuer target market, while other companys just think that i'm some sort of satan worshiping junkie who can't make it to work on time.
but i would never put music or promotion down on my resume unless it was actually related to the position i was applying for.
mind you i wouldn't lie about my musical passion if was asked what i do in my free time at an interview either, as there is nothing worse than having to pretend to be someone you're not.
i think what it really comes down to is better judgement really.
that and how you present your self...
I'm feeling warm unicorn jizz right now..

One of the thing that helped me get my job at Bell is my promotion experience in the scene. Don't forget that being a dj or musician means you have some experience in negociating contracts. (At least you can say that.) Bottom line is, any experience you get in the scene also counts as work experience. Employers just want to make sure that it won't keep you from showing up at work every day and doing your job right. Just tell them that you used to be very serious about it, but it's more of a hobby now. That's what I did anyways.

i got a diploma in grade school...

being a long time bell customer i really wouldn't be suprised if thats all you need to answer calls there...

bell really takes the crown for customer service idiocy.

at least now they seemed to have stopped transfering me to india to tell me to turn off my modem for 30 seconds a hundred times...

GO BELL!!!
