Yah, saw Pirates 3 yesterday!!!
It's amazing!
Lots of surrealistic/Dreamworld stuffs ^__^
Some of the scenes are very beautiful.

Even if there were stuffs happening in Asia, they didn't have ninja-pirates though :(
And... some very sad stuffs happened. *goes into foetal position*

Go see it, it's fun ^__^
Not the most philosphical/atmospheric/deep movie, but it's fun to watch :)
I'm feeling happy and doomed right now..

The effects are nice, but the story is.. I dunno.... boring?

It's really lacking something.. The first one was great, the second one was alright.. This one just didn't seem that interesting.. It just feels too long and slow and is generally not interesting at all.

There's a few good scenes, some good funny moments, but the thing in general isn't really managing to hold my attention. And wtf... the kraken! That was the best part of pt2, they totally fucked this one up in that regard.

Movies so far this summer have all been pretty dissapointing and not as good as they could have been. Transformers had better not be another one that looks so amazing from the trailers and have so much potential, and then turn into a total pile of uninspired wank.
I'm feeling warcracktastic right now..

I dunno, unless you absolutely want to see it in theaters because you completely and totally loved the first 2, you should probably download it and decide if it would be worth seeing on the big screen.

I loved the 1st one, the second one was pretty good, but this one... not impressed. It looks good, but it's not interesting.

Yeah, perfect example. Xmen 3 was a perfect example of taking a franchise that was doing good, and hopelessly running it into the ground in one movie.

Batman Forever also comes to mind. And Turtles in Time. 2 great movies before, 3rd one just completely destroys any hope of serious investors/directors being able to restore the franchise to it's previous glory.

Honestly, the story wasn't that bad I find.
Could've been improved, and they could have definitely boosted up the atmosphere, but m'eh.
When I went to see it, we went to have fun and be with friends, so I didn't concentrate on finding the negative stuffs to the movie. :)

But yah, I do see a trend in making huge movies full of CGI, but no plot...

I think you have to know what Davy Jones' Locker is before you can understand what was happening in the movie..

I agree the death of the Kraken really was the saddest part of the movie...

but the visuals were, not surprisingly, stunning!!!

there's a little kid out playing and goes to look at the sunset, then that what's-her-name that became pirate queen comes up and they watch the sunrise, and there's a flash of green, and then legolas looking like a gay parisian on a boat comes sailing back to them.
