Hey everyone since we are old school here what do u guys prefer seeing dj's do working and playing that vinyl or just pushing buttons!!!!

I myself am a dj i love vinyl it has a great sound and it takes more work in playing.
New technology dj's are lazy as far as i am concerned like MP3, Computer crap so on and so for and cd's yes u can get any track u want by downloading and stealing the track from the artist. But u can't manipulate CD's Like vinyl.

Discuss!!!
I'm feeling disapointed right now..

Hi gorgeous! (DJ LynZyn is DA REAL DEAL, folks!)
My opinion is simple; there are too many DJs out there, very few are actually "good" per se, but DJing is about the performance, not the medium.

Modern DJs using CDs and MP3s and stuff should take warning; it is good as long as they are pushing the enveloppe, but it is a waste of time if they use shortcuts using computers and whatnot.

For example; DIPLO is a good modern DJ who actually mixes different songs and styles as one to create a "new" track. Mash-ups are a good way to push the enveloppe too. But a DJ who uses computers to mix from one track into the other is basically lazy.

Exceptions do apply of course!

Lots of luv to you Lynn!
I'm feeling thrusted thursday right now..

The point on being a dj is because u wanna work that music and get the crowd going on a VIBE and by preforming a good set by running back and forth on the decks and doing tricks LIVE makes it that much better people appreciate it more and get into the music and vibe more!!!
I'm feeling disapointed right now..

I can understand why anyone would want to spin mp3s. It's cheaper, and you don't run the risk of ruining your track by leaving it under the sun or scratching it. Even if you lose your cds, you just have to burn em again. I still think it's important to actually mix and pay for the mp3s you download.
I'm feeling back to the groove right now..

Here's my view: CDs allow you to cue by pressing a button, whereas on vinyl, you need to pick up the needle, drop it and find your cue. This wastes valuable seconds that could be used to produce something you can actually hear.

I switched to CD because I started mixing psytrance, which is nowadays only available on CD. I changed styles still since then, but I got hooked to CDs.

There are other reasons to like CDs and I respect DJs who still insist on playing vinyl, as I used to myself.
I'm feeling progged right now..

And yet i repeat most dj's that switch is because it is more conveinant and LAZY but like u said putting the needle on the recore and so on and so forth that is working baby!!!It wouldn't waist seconds if u r on time and know what u r doing!!!
I'm feeling people suck right now..

Fuck being a vinyl snob, being a dj isn't just about dropping the needle, and cueing with yiour finger...The medium don't mean shit, on a turntable or a cd deck or traktor forthat matter, you still need to work to cue it up proper, to match the beats, to eq things proper.

If you want to be a vinylist / /purist wtv, that is fine, the rest of us will meet you in this century
I'm feeling ez'ly baked right now..

furthermore it's about track selection. That's why some carry on buying tons of vinyls (where the fresh stuff is), encode them straight and make full use of the creativity offered by new tech.
