| so I found out my landlord went into my apartment and triggered my alarm and left - the cops went in and everything was ok - but I am pissed she is doing that and I need to vent. Why are landlords psychos? |

And I was just having a little chat with my Lanlord about that, I told him to stay out unless it's an emergency, and he's totally cool with it cause Signalarm doesnt fuck around you know? It's like 3 minute response time...WHAT THE FUCK WAS SHE DOING IN YOUR PLACE?

| we have a problem right noe also with my friend's andlord, today was the second time he came in before knocking or call before...and its the second time that he threaten all of us to break our legs and beat us up if my friend didnt move away soon ...the fact is that his landlord doesnt like one of the roomate, say he is too snobish..so he is making all kind of thread to get rid of them...BUT at the same time, he's telling to my friend that if moves away before paying all the rent until july, he will sue him, go to our job to talk shit on us to our boss and so on..last time, I went to the police to open a file on him because he threat me to kill me if I would ever say what I've heard last time he was there, this time he didnt said a thing to me, but I wish I would have recorded our conversation...
he made one mistake, I now have his licence number and I know where he lives. This fucker is going to receive a visit real soon before any of my friends or I are injured for real |

| Noo way! Alex u will not regret getting an alarm. They are worth it - mine is top notch as well. I have no proof YET that it was her that triggered the alarm. But I kinda KNOW it is. Basically we have 2 cats (who are total sweethearts) but she says they make too much noise which is totally exagerated. She said we have to get rid of the cats - even though it says on our lease we are allowed to have pets ("cats only" specified). So I am not getting rid of my babies. No way. SHe is this old italian grandma-type and I know how they are. They think animals are meant to be butchered-not pets. They are also very intrusive to peoples privacy because they are so welcoming to everytone they think everyone is like that. I know its her who went in and triggered the alarm because 1-there were no signs of break in 2-the cats cant trigger it - it is animal proof, and 3-when u walk into my place the alarm gets ready and can only be stopped with the correct code. So she probably went in to check if we still had the cats and so on , the alarm went off and she left.
She barely speaks any english (italian mostly) and seems to be completely clueless of the quebec laws.

| I'd follow the BF's advice. But agreed on having an alarm is a good idea ... TONS of landlords feel like because they 'own' the place they can barge in all the time and tell their tenants how to live. |

| hey well guess what I was totally wrong about my landlord (even though she still has probs) We got robbed!
Some fucker broke into our place - stole my mac and left. The alarm went off but guess what...the cops never showed up!
The alarm company called them as soon as they detected the signal - did not hear back from them assuming everything was fine...well they never ended up coming. I got home - my door was open (they broke the lock) my alarm was still going - I stopped it and noticed the mac was gone. They ONLY took the mac too which is weird..we have tons of other stuff they could have grabbed...they didnt even take the plugs and keyboard that belongs with the mac...
I dont care about the computer...I care about whats on the computer. Work, pics, music, favs, etc. So Im pretty bummed.
The alarm company called me again - I gave them shit - they called the cops again - showed up 4 hours later. I was fuming. Montreal cops suck. |

| ahuntsic/st michel. I hate this area. But our apartment is super nice + we also got a good deal. Anyways we are installing new (very good) locks in all the doors today and going to try and sue the cops for their shitty job. The alarm+insurance companies agreed to back us up - they did their job but the cops did not work with them like they were supposed to.
My neighbor got robbed too - same time. Probably same guy. |
