On December 11th I am proud to announce the return of...

IN FLAMES - Gothenburg, Sweden

a Swedish melodic death metal band from the city of Gothenburg. During the years, In Flames has changed and evolved their style through many influences, especially in the last years. Like At the Gates, their heavy influence on the genre is not disputed.
In Flames' line-up underwent constant changes throughout their early career. Their first stable line-up was composed by the founding members Jesper Strömblad, Johan Larsson and Glenn Ljungström, with Mikael Stanne guest-singing for vocals. It is with this line-up that they recorded their first album Lunar Strain. Stanne then departed and was replaced by Henke Forss for the album Subterranean, which also included new drummer Daniel Erlandsson. Henke subsequently left the band as well, opening the door for Anders Fridén (who was ironically the vocalist for Dark Tranquillity at the time) for the vocal duties and Bjorn Gelotte on the drums. It was under this new line-up that they recorded The Jester Race, which garnered the band world-wide recognition, especially in Europe and Japan.
The band is perhaps best known for their albums The Jester Race, Whoracle, Colony and Clayman. However, the group came to mainstream attention with Reroute to Remain, Soundtrack To Your Escape and their most recent studio album Come Clarity (which has sold over 100,000 copies in the United States).

LACUNA COIL - Milan, Italy

Lacuna Coil is a gothic metal band formed in Milan, Italy, in 1994. They were formerly known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal. The band was heavily inspired by gothic imagery, and the members are known, musically, for composing midtempo songs consisting of guitar lines overlayed with prominent keyboard work, and contrasting dual female/male vocal harmonies to help create a melodic sound. However, much of their more recent material sees a more down-tuned style similar to that of some of their influences such as Korn and Meshuggah. The band formed as Sleep of Right, but soon changed their name to Ethereal, and were signed by Century Media at the end of 1997. Finding that the name Ethereal was already taken, they settled instead on Lacuna Coil (which means empty spiral). The band consisted at that point of co-vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro with bassist/keyboardist Marco Coti Zelati. The band recorded a self titled EP, released in 1998, and went on tour supporting label-mates Moonspell. The band was accompanied for this tour by guitarist Cristiano Migliore and drummer Cristiano Mozzati.Following a second European tour, the band recorded their debut full-length album, In a Reverie, and added second guitarist Marco Biazzi. The band supported the album with another European tour, co-headlining with Skyclad.
In 2002, the band released Comalies, an album which received acclaim and rave reviews from certain corners of the metal world. Over a year later, the first single from this album, Heaven's a Lie, began to receive radio and media attention and pulled the band into the mainstream. The second single, Swamped, also played in heavy rotation, and was used in the video game "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines", both in one of the game's fictitous clubs and along with the game's endgame credits. Music videos were filmed for both songs and broadcast on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball, further extending the band's reach.
By 2004, Comalies had become the best-selling CD in Century Media's history. The band appeared at Ozzfest in between headlining club tours in America and Europe. In an effort to best take advantage of Lacuna Coil's ascendant popularity, the band and label postponed the release of their highly-anticipated follow up to Comalies, Karmacode, to early 2006. According to the band's website, this made it possible for more time to be spent on production while also avoiding the crowded summer 2005 release schedule for metal albums. On December 23rd, 2005, the band announced via their official web site that all recording, mixing, and mastering has been finished and that Karmacode is complete. Soon after, it was announced that Karmacode would be released in USA on April 4th, 2006. One of its tracks, "Our Truth", is the first single (and video) and is featured as well on the soundtrack of the movie Underworld: Evolution in stores on January 10th, 2006. The video has had rotation on MTV.
During their 2005 European Tour, Lacuna Coil performed two new songs (working titles "A2" and "Antonio") at selected concerts. "Our Truth" is one of these songs, tentatively referred to at the time as "Antonio", while the song "A2" has been renamed to "Fragile", and is the opening track on Karmacode.
Corresponding with the release of the new album, Lacuna Coil went on tour with Rob Zombie throughout North America in early 2006. Once again, Lacuna Coil are playing in Ozzfest, this time on the main stage. They also played at the 2006 Download Festival, a three-day festival in England's Donington Park which was headlined by Metallica, Tool, and Guns N' Roses. They are also scheduled to play one night in the UK at Sheffield Corporation on October 17th.

Supporting acts will include The Sword from Austin, Texas and Seemless of Boston, Massachusets!

There not half as good (live and on records) as the bands they've been inspired by, Dark Tranquility and Hypocrisy...

There's more Emos listening to them now than metalheads...

Not a chance in the world I spend 30 bucks on that.

Uhhh, In flames WAS Dark Tranquility....and EMOS ARE EVERYWHERE!!! DRUM AND BASS, ELECTRO, PUNK, NEW WAVE, BREAKS, HARDCORE...so why try and pigeon hole something I love into EMO status...so wack.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, get informed! Dark TRanquility were in show in montreal last year with Hypocrisy and Soilwork! There last album, character, out last year is a blast!

Some members (that may be just one in fact) of DT went in In Flames and some members of inflames went on DT at some point... don't know the exact story but that is definitivly two dinstinct band... and DT is just plain better...

Emo are not in proper metal and Indus yet... Its too mean for them, it makes them cry. So I'm ok for a while.

???? Anders Frieden was the lead Singer for D.T and he is the heart and soul of In Flames, so I'm very well informed how they've both swapped members....so whats the difference if I say that In Flames basically was Dark tranquility for a while> There is none, thank for being redundant in trying to prove me wrong.
