But there's more! The tax free income that everyone receives has been reduced by $200, and the base income tax rate goes up by 1%.

This means that if you're a student working part time who makes $10000 a year, you will need to spend $53200 on consumer goods to make back your 1% GST cut.

If that sounds bad enough, if you're a full time worker who makes $30000 a year, you will need to spend $433200 on consumer goods to make back your 1% GST cut.

This increase in taxes is expected to earn the government several billion dollars in added revenue.

Thank you, Mr. Harper, and an especially big thank you to your little lapdog, Jim Flaherty.

Mr. Flaherty's best noted career moves include:
-overseeing the introduction of superjails into Ontario
-stating that his goal as minister overseeing first nations that his goal was cultural integration
-sending cheques to parents that send their kids to private schools, often for more money than the school section of property taxes

Yes, once more, Jim, thanks for being the fucking financial superstar that you are. Good on you.

But think about it
a car of 20 000$
cost 200$ less

But that gain of money gouvernment lost will surely been taken from elsewhere?

the problem is that 200$ for exemple don't go to healthware and education

Actually the income tax increase is only for the people in the lowest tax brackett. So this really only benefits the middle and upper classes. The poorest people in society actually had a tax increase as only luxury items are taxed by GST in the first place.

The income tax rate for those whose make 36,400$ gross or less went from 15 to 15.5.

Right wing governments reduce taxes for the corporations.

Hello, it's politic...
Is there really somebody who believed in Harper's electoral promises?

They will never give us the chance of getting richer or less poor...
The only thing that counts for them is their own benefit... And the army, to be closer of Bush...

I think politic have no place in this forum...
That's my opinion...

I won't post anything else here...
