Is so where did you learn it? I want to start learning it but not sure where.. and even though i work at a place thats related to the deaf no one has given me a clear answer on courses or how to learn to sign thanks |

only place i know of is the mackay center.. but its deaf /disability school for kids and i have no idea if they got programs for adults wanting to learn.. i sent a e-mail to them tonight waiting to hear back im sure theres something out there |

there is a place called SIVET or SIVEC or somethin like that, I used them once when I needed to hire a simultaneous translator. |

so i had to learn it...it was a good experience...i like them very much...it was like my litle sis and bro... now i can still //talk// a litle but not like before...it's like any language.. if u don't practice u gonna lost it! the last comment is a realy good idea.. u can be volonteer...i can not help u for the class because i talked the sign language in french... |

 Coolness: 47665 | i learned some sign language, i took classes for free at Dawson. The teacher was a student doing the leadership program there (i forget what its called) and she happened to be deaf so she set up a class.. it was really cool to learn some sign and just general things that are considered rude in the deaf community, like when you are talking/signing with someone you shouldnt be looking at their hands but looking them in the eye. At the end of the classes we had a pizza party and she invited a lot of her deaf friends and we all got to talk and practice and played fun party games! hurrah |
