So Yeah For Like 5 years I Wanted
To Be a Bike Messenger in Montreal
and because and I had a bmx bike
they kinda laughed at me and said
I Couldn't do it. But Anyway now im
with an urban assault bike :) and
ready to crank it up again all summer.
I Just Hope I could get the god damn
job. I Know i'm typing this on a rave
site [talk about a fucking addiction] :P

Nway Im just asking to anybody that
is reading this if he as anything to
say about the bike messengers in
montreal, you hate em, you like em,
you don't give a fuck about em, you know
one personnaly... or let the topic die..
at least I tried.

Because they seems to but less of them
each year because of the internet or

The Greatest Job In The World :)

12 ppl in montreal O_O
i heard someone died hit by a car like
in montreal in 2001 or so...maybe
12 ppl in canada...:S

the thing is that i heard that u get paid
by the package delivery and not per hour
and they d'ont nescesarly have like packages
to for you to deliver like all day..so u can
make like not a lot of money..but u can make
more the day after if they have more packages
to deliver...

but nway I dont wanna do this to get rich
I just wanna met new friends to do hardcore
riding with in montreal this summer and
just ride all the time. So if i can get paid
while doing it that would be awesome :D

Ive already had a lot of bike injuries with
head conscusions and all so i can deal with
the risks of the job :)

...

Lee, is Purple Lee here ?

its very demanding on the body, you pedal as hard as you can for like 8 hours, not countin the time to get to and from work, and do it 5 days a week, its contrary to proper excercise regime, it slowly burns all your muscle down to a smaller shape. Eat LOTS of protiens.

Being a bike courier for 7 years i have had tons of fun, but if you are doing it because you expect tons of cash then you are in for a rude shock ( it takes time to build up your speed & experience)
This is a type of job where you either like or not for there is no middle ground.
Just most thingz you get better as time goes on.
Take it from this job comes with its own problems...example being broadsided by a car(small hint it hurtz)
If you are looking for a job where you get into the best shape of your life...this is one of them
Us bike courier are a sort sub culture made up of a lot different peeps from all walk of life
Try and see if you like it.
If anyone on this board has any other question just contact me and ask away
Even after being a really bad crash i miss this job a lot and if thingz workout right i will return, but only time will see(first i need to heal & walk on my two feet again)

i was biker on delivery for a while...i had a lot of friends in mtl who have this job...it's a real sous-estime profession..it's sad ..they try to syndicate but it's never working...some of them make a good pay..i think it's inaceptable that they are not protected corectly when an accident happen...puis...sois pret pour le temp a reparer ton bike..but personaly it's was a pleasure to ride my bike even sometime in the snow!u can find a real gang hang out in the center...it's true that it's a real culture..look in the newspapers...always ads there..
talking about bike.. for sale : -one chopper non-motorise, chrome&silver,lampe a l'hogene,
3 vitesses interchangeables on the frame...
a guy or a girl can ride it..not too much personalize..but honestly ,girl or boy u feel like a californian
pimp when u seat on...haha!
he had a big money value...
if u are an expert in low-rider(what i'm not even the fact that i ride it for more than 5 years..),u will
have fun
to paint it..maybe sale it and make profit...i realy enjoyed this bike when i wanted to listen music
go slow on the sunday at the mountain...sorry too nostalgique!

- 400$ negociable...pm me.

This is the bike that i am going to be getting to replace the one that was turned into a paper weight in my crash.

What people have to under stand about being a bike courier it is a job that is base soully on cominsion ( the faster you are the more package you can pickup & drop off)...that is how you make your money.

Last year there was a move...well it took a couple of years to get people thinking about getting into a union. The major problem with us bike couriers is that we also needed the drivers to be on our side. This did not work @ all. A bike courier falls in the gray area of jobs. We have no saluray, we don't get paid for vacation @ all, if you are hurt while dong the job there is CSST or Saaq to cover you, but this takes time, you can be fired on the spot if you really fuckup hardcore.

There is room to make the courier world better, but that requires everyone working together and i don't see that happening if ever.

Don't get me wrong I love being a bike courier, but i do see where being one sucks. The job it self has enriched my life that is for sure.
