Besides trebas, l'école du show business and all that, does anyone knows other professional establishments where it’s possible to get similar sound engineering trainings?
Preferably within the province of Québec and Ontario.
Also, which one provides the best program for someone who's focused more on music production? |

| I'm in EA at corcordia (electroacoustics), and you learn some recording and production skills, but some of it is a bit weird and academic and you have to take music theory also which is a pain in the ass.. But the sound recording class rocks... Also a lot of people don't seem to be big on techno music in the program... But it's still better than paying thousands of dollars for recording school... It would be better to spend that cash on gear |

| A friend of mine works at Premium Sound right here in Montreal, post-production audio stuff. He went to a school in London, Ontario which the name eludes me at the moment. I remembered he said that Trebass sucks. Next time i talk to him, i'll get you the 411.
After you finish whatever academic education you choose, when you go for a job, they ain't going to make you sound engineering right away. They going to make you do small simple tasks. They are some stuff you can only learn from experience by working in the industry. |

| man in 10 years most studios are probably going ot be out of business.. It's almost better to just buy all the gear you need and learn it yourself, and find a good space to do your work... |

| huh? well maybe if you want to be a music producer.....
but movies and t.v shows are always going to need sound editing, that's where the sound engineers come in and do their magic. (in a studio).
