After solding out the first 12" release in less than in a week, we're not only repressing a new batch but are also releasing a new EP!

"A Closing out of the sky" by Jesse Somfay

Archipel brings in Jesse Somfay for his first solo 12", "A Closing Out of the Sky" on the label's vinyl series. Jesse Somfay is a newcomer in the electronic dance music release scene but is no stranger to making quality music laced with infectious rhythms, melodies and mental effects. The title track, "A Closing Out of the Sky" is a gentle yet bass heavy percussive epic which builds slowly so it is perfect for the more delicate moments on the floor or listening at home. Half way through the track there is a clearing in Jesse's forest of percussion which leads way to a flourishing guitar crescendo inspired by space rock and shoegaze bands such as Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. With "Lying in a Bed of Mist" Jesse continues this percussive journey with psychedelic effects and dreamy and euphoric interludes of melody ready to hypnotise.

Also, we're proud to announce the launch of a sub-label with a first release that sold a license to Fabric for Matt Dear's mix CD. Label's name : Kalimari.
Our first release is by Lee Curtiss from Detroit...

Archipel is constantly working hard to bring you the latest in quality music and, with that in mind, brings you the new sublabel "Kalimari." For the first release, Kalimari invites Detroit's Lee Curtiss who churns out his dark and elastic release "Mein Tesh."

Lee starts off with "Ketamine Xmas" which is featured on Matt Dear's new mix CD on Fabric. True to its name, Katemine Xmas is a little gift of drawn out soaking wet track soaked in dark paralysis. "Pink Panty" is a freaked out space jam of paranoid chords and shifty eyed percussion.

On the B-side is "Would You Still" which is chock full of extremely low end bass and humid echoing masses of sound in a cold cocoon which somehow remains warm. On the inside is "After the Trip" which is drenched in drooling acidic percussion and mindfuck synths.

Soon in stores ;)
