Or you can just watch Event Horizon, Aliens and Resident Evil and imagine all that good parts of that put together into one movie with retarded dialog and a story that completely rapes the whole concept behind Doom.

The creature design was great, and I'd expect nothing less from Stan Winston, but what the fuck was up with changing the whole fucking story around? Didn't anyone learn from Resident Evil and Mario Brothers that you should try and stick to the source material?

yeah
its suposed to be hell on mars ... not genome things ....
the movie is great but i wanted the real story not a re-re-remake of the resident evil thing

well writers in hollywood need to make up a reason to be paid a million bucks or more for a script, so they have to "make up" a good story

Well, not exactly hell on mars, but an experiment in teleporting opening a gateway to hell and things coming through (kinda like Event Horizon)

Methinks the creators of the movie looked at someone playing Doom3 for 15 minutes then came up with a movie from what they saw.

The first person part was cool, very game like.. (though the monsters really didn't put up much of a fight) .. but the rest was pretty weak.

What I'm dying to see is a Half-Life movie that follows the story.. that or a Marathon movie.. (the series of games that came before halo)

well, I doubt there's gonna be a Marathon movie, but Peter Jackson is helming the Halo movie, so even without reading any script or anything I already know that that one is gonna kick ass.

Half Life would definetly be a great movie. On an other note, I wonder if they made a movie from the book called "The Dig", the myst-like (but much better) game kept me glued to the screen for hours during my teen ages.

Yup.. it was just the BFG.. which could also stand for Big Friendly Giant if you're a Roald Dahl fan (and really, who isn't?).. what it actually stood for seems to be very different depending on whether your shooting it (Big Fucking Gun) or designing it (Bio Feedback Gun, or Big Force Gun or whatev)...

Not stoked about this movie at all.. waiting till video or dollar cinema.

Yeah, they paid top-dollar to properly translate the imp and pink demon grunts into their french counterparts and all the guns would say "Le BANG! hon hon hon!" every time you shoot.
