How does that make sense? I think it doesn't. I think it worked once by fluke and now they're all excited. People get robbed all the time, especially in New York, they probably woulda found a robber anywhere downtown between 8 and 12. The software probably put together records and concluded that there is ALWAYS a robbery on Brooklyn between 8 and 12. |

detectives always function on hunches. although a hunch is still just a hunch. you envision the most likely scenario and you act upon it cause there's a good chance you might be right.
even when errors are made in these situations they take the new data into consideration... cause i do believe that different types of criminal minds can be mapped. repetitive and first time offenders behave in certain manners. its hard for humans to accept that we're so predictable in certain scenarios. i agree that the data isnt perfected and it's always changing. it's still an educated hunch. there's a few videos at the library you can watch skeptical or not i think they're mad interesting |

well what kind of data is this software using to come to these conclusions? That's what I wanna know. |
